Conditions of entry:
Only students enrolled in BA, MA, TMA, or OT programs at Hungarian higher education institutions may apply.
Application fee: 10,000 HUF
The competition material: The competition consists of a single round.
Required pieces
From Attila Gallai’s Bridge – Etudes for Teaching Contemporary Music, the following three etudes must be performed:
Pergetős (Spinning)
Szünetek (Rests)
Sirató (Mourning)
and one freely chosen piece (or movement) with piano accompaniment, up to a maximum of 12 minutes.
Competitors must perform all three compulsory etudes, in any order they choose.

Competition requirements:
Sheet music may be used during the performance; playing from memory does not confer any advantage.
The duration of the freely chosen piece may not exceed 12 minutes per competitor. In case of exceeding the time limit, the jury may stop the performance.
Competitors may bring their own piano accompanist for the performance. If needed, the music school can provide an accompanist for a fee of 10,000 HUF.
The jury may award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize(s) and special prize(s).
Jury members:
Balázs Rumy: Clarinet Artist, principal clarinet of the Hungarian State Opera.
Krisztina Tötös: Clarinet Artist, founding member of the Pentaerophonia Budapest Wind Quintet and the Sinfonietta Erudita chamber ensemble. She currently works at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music as an expert in educational administration and curriculum development.
Péter Szűcs: Artisjus Award-winning clarinet artist, Assistant Lecturer at the Bartók Béla Faculty of Music of the University of Miskolc. Member of the UMZE Chamber Ensemble.
All applicants will be notified of the detailed arrangements for the competition once the applications have been processed.

Csúfolódó (Mocking)
és 1 vagy 2 szabadon választott mű, maximum 20 percben.
Competitors must perform both compulsory etudes, in any order they choose.

The compulsory piece must be performed on alto saxophone, while the freely chosen piece(s) may be performed on any type of saxophone.
Sheet music may be used during the performance; playing from memory does not confer any advantage.
The total duration of the freely chosen piece(s) may not exceed 20 minutes per competitor. In case of exceeding the time limit, the jury may stop the performance.
Competitors may bring their own piano accompanist for the performance; however, if needed, the music school can provide an accompanist for a fee of 10,000 HUF.

Jury members:
Dr. Levente Puskás: Clarinet and Saxophone Artist, Associate Professor, saxophone teacher at the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen and the Egressy Béni Reformed Art Secondary School, alto saxophonist of the Budapest Saxophone Quartet.
Tamás Szitás: Saxophone Artist-Teacher, Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen, saxophone teacher at the Pászti Miklós Primary Art School in Biatorbágy and the Ádám Jenő Primary Art School in Szigetszentmiklós, soprano saxophonist of the SiLuMoNa Saxophone Quartet.
Viktor Nagy: Saxophone artist and teacher, saxophone teacher at the Vujicsics Tihamér Music School in Szentendre, and chamber music teacher at the Bartók Béla Music and Instrument Making Practice High School of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music.
